Let me
tell you a little bit about myself!
In addition to teaching bassoon, coaching
chamber ensembles, and performing, I also am the Assistant Director of the
Lionel Hampton School of Music.
I am very active as a performer. I normally
perform on at
least one recital each year, in addition to performing both orchestral
and chamber music extensively (see below).
When not
making reeds, I enjoy reading, hiking, road and mountain biking, and eating
fine food with my husband Tom.

Orchestral Performance
- I am
principal bassoonist of the the
Walla Walla Symphony.
I have been a member
of many musical organizations, including the
Boulder Bach Festival,
Colorado Music
Festival, Colorado MahlerFest,
the Washington Idaho Symphony,
and
Ernest Bloch Music
Festival. As a free lancer, I perform regularly with the
Spokane
Symphony, and have also performed with the
Northwest Bach
Festival, the
Delaware Symphony Orchestra,
Concerto Soloists of
Philadelphia, and with various other groups in the East Coast,
Colorado, Wyoming and the Northwest.

Summer Music Program for Adults
-
I teach,
coach and perform at a wonderful summer music camp for adult amateurs in
Walla Walla, Washington.

Education -
I earned my doctorate and bachelor's degrees
from the University of Colorado
and my
master's degree from Florida State University.
My principal teachers have been William Winstead
(principal bassoonist of Cincinnati Symphony),
Robert Olson,
John Wetherill (Indianapolis Symphony) and
Ryohei Nakagawa (Tokyo Philharmonic).
