A Holocaust Journey:
Classroom Encounters |
| Why teach the Holocaust? What happens when you do?
The leaders of this workshop have struggled with these questions. All are teachers of
writing who have explored Holocaust issues in a variety of settings: freshman comp,
interdisciplinary courses for upper level students, special topics seminars. Rather
than prescribe a particular approach to such difficult and disturbing material, we will
use reading, writing, and videotaped excerpts to engage with participants in an inquiry
into the meaning of this work both for our students and for ourselves. We welcome
colleagues who have worked with this material and those who are looking to find a way into
it.
