SOC/ANTH 301:  Introduction to Diversity & Stratification
Soc/Anth 301 is designed to provide students with an introduction to diversity and stratification, with a focus on global diversity.  Following this course, students should enroll in one of the 400 level inequality courses (sociology of gender, sociology of race relations, and social stratification).  Soc/Anth 301 is also offered as a web based course during the summer.

Soc/Anth 301 is offered at least once a year and is one of the required courses for the Certificate of Completion in Diversity and Stratification.

This creative and engaging certificate program provides an avenue for students, professionals, and community members to obtain comprehensive, university-centered diversity training and learning through classroom, on-line, workshop, internship, and service learning formats.  Because participants engage in 12 credits of university study they select from a range of courses, an array of practice workshops, and a variety of experiential alternatives, the program offers flexibility for participants to tailor their program to their specific field of study while acquiring skills and knowledge applicable to any workplace environment.  Upon completion of the program, the certificate acknowledges competency in understanding a broad range of diversity issues and an ability to apply that understanding to the workplace and in social life.  See Dr. John Mihelich for more information about the certificate program (jmihelic@uidaho.edu).
