Since fiscal year 2000, the percentage of students in Region Seven reporting cigarette use has decreased for all age levels.

It also appears that cigarette use begins between grades eight and 10, and in this region and continues into grade 12.

These data are similar to state data in the percentage of nonuse at each of the grade levels.  In general, it is clear

more interventions are needed beginning in grades 8 through grade 12.
