The number of students using chewing tobacco in Region 7 has been increasing in all grade levels for the past several years.
In grade 6, 4% of the students reported their friends use chewing tobacco. In grade 8, that percentage has increased to 12%
By grade 10, that percentage has increased to 32%, and by grade 12, to 39%
It is clear additional interventions are needed in Region 7 to reduce chewing tobacco consumption
