| In general, the number of students using methamphetamine with the past 30 days has remained relatively constant since FY 2000. Of the individuals who do use, most begin in the eighth grade and use the drug experimentally. This use rate gradually increases in the 10th grade and stabilizes. More importantly, methamphetamine use has decreased for individuals using the drug 10 times or more in the 10th and 12th grades in 2006. Again, it is recommended that prevention interventions related to methamphetamine use begin in the eighth grade. |
