In general, the number of students reporting marijuana use in the past 30 days has remained relatively constant for all grade levels  since FY 2000.  However, there is a sizable increase in the number of individuals who use marijuana between the eighth and 10th grade.   Of the individuals who are using marijuana, the number remains relatively constant as they move into 12th grade.  It is clear that interventions beginning in the eighth grade are extremely important for reducing marijuana use, and it is highly encouraged the prevention interventions begin in these time periods.
