The STG hosts an email group to facilitate communication amongst members.  Use of the email group is restricted to members of the STG, and it is a moderated email group. Suggested uses include:

  • posing safety-related questions
  • making contacts within the safety profession
  • announcing events (e.g., upcoming workshops or conferences)
  • announcing employment opportunities related to safety
  • general information sharing

To join the group:

Go to http://groups.yahoo.com/group/safetytg and click on the “subscribe” link on the right side of the page. On the next page you will need to create a Yahoo! ID and password.  then choose the options you prefer (e.g., daily email, digest form, web only) and you are all done.  

To post to the group:  

Send email to safetytg@egroups.com and the posting will be distributed to all subscribers, after the moderators have reviewed it. 

General rules:

  • No advertisements, with the exception of job announcements.  For job announcements, please include the words "Job Posting" in the subject and provide a return address. All replies should be sent to the person posting the job and not the entire email group.
  • Include a signature in all postings where you may be contacted.
  • Before replying to a posting, consider whether the reply is of interest to all subscribers or only the person posting. If the latter, send reply ONLY to the person posting.
  • Do not include attachments. If you wish to divert readers attention to graphics, presentations or other items that increase the size of the posting beyond that of a typical email, direct the readers to a separate URL.
