It is recommended that all students (including prospective students, new students, current students, and transfer students) interested in the psychology major meet with a peer advisor.
Peer Advisors:
Our peer advisors are carefully selected and extensively trained student advisors who are available to help students with all of their questions about the psychology major, careers in psychology, graduate school, and success at the University of Idaho. They advise freshman and sophomore students, but are also available to help all students in the following areas:
- reviewing transcripts
- planning coursework
- lifting registration blocks (freshman/sophomores only)
- finding your Junior/Senior year advisor
- study skills
- starting a career plan (also see the Advising Links)
- preparing to apply to graduate school (also see the Advising Links)
- answering or finding the answers to any other questions
They are located in the Student Health Building, Psychology Department room #200
Times vary by semester. Advising times are posted on the peer advising room door. No appointment is necessary.
Faculty Advisors:
If you are a junior or senior, and you have already seen a peer advisor,
then it is time to choose a faculty advisor. The peer advisors and this
List of Faculty Advisors can
help you choose an advisor that is appropriate for you.
