Hepatitis Prevention

Overview.  As discussed earlier, there are several types of Hepatitis and transmitted several ways.  Consequently, prevention may be as simple as washing  hands, more complicated with use of an vaccination, and finally by engaging in safer sexual behaviors.  This section provides some information related to hepatitis prevention.  Again, the CDC provides a comprehensive overview of these programs.  

Goal:  Provide an overview of hepatitis prevention issues and programs.

Objectives.  To gain information related to hepatitis prevention.

To identify and understand local hepatitis prevention programs.

1.  Review the following articles and information provided in the following websites.

Go to the CDC search engine and type in Hepatitis Prevention Programs.  There you will find many articles related to prevention.  I have included a couple.

2.  Contact your local public health department and collect some information related to hepatitis prevention programs they perform in your area.

3.  Integrate tasks one and two and send a 2-3 page paper describing some hepatitis prevention programs used nationally and within your local area.  Which do you consider the most effective and why?  What might be some barriers to implementing these programs.
