INSTRUCTIONS:

For this assignment, you will learn about the RIASEC model and explore your career interests.  First, go to the following website and learn about the RIASEC model of interests:

Holland's RIASEC model 

Now I would like you to take the interest guide questionnaire on the US government's website for federal jobs (click on "Interest Guide Questionnaire").  

After reviewing the information about the RIASEC model and taking the interest inventory, answer the following questions:

1.  What were your results? Did the interest inventory provide results that you think are accurate?

2.  The interest guide questionnaire does not follow the RIASEC model exactly.  Compare and contrast the interest inventory you took with the RIASEC model.  

*Disclaimer: I am asking you to take this interest inventory to learn more about tools that can be used to identify career interests.  I do not know if this inventory is reliable and valid for assessing career interests, so keep that in mind when interpreting your results.
