An important consideration for training evaluation involves
the power of one’s research design and analysis. Power refers to our ability
to detect an effect that truly exists. That is, if our training program
really did have an effect on trainees, we want high power so that we can
detect the change statistically. There are a number of things one can do to
improve power. We will discuss some of these options and also discuss the
benefits of analysis of covariance (ANCOVA).
