Trainers often neglect the effect of the work environment on
transfer of training. When designing training programs, inadequate attention
is given to what happens when employees return to their jobs. Given the
importance of the work environment on transfer of training, I would like you
to share some of your experiences with training programs.
For this module, we will have a discussion of how the work
environment may inhibit or promote transfer of training (see the discussion
posting in Blackboard for Lesson 3). Many of you have
participated in training programs at work. Drawing on these experiences, I
would like each student to comment on factors that they believe inhibited
transfer of training or factors that they found promoted transfer of
training.
