Introduction

DisordersIn this section, we examine a few major disorders that impact individuals. In no way is the list complete. For this class, I have chosen some such as Schizophrenia and Alzheimer's Disease which are very dehabilitating, plus substance abuse and the affective disorders (including depression) are very common. This lesson examines these disorders and provides some overview for their causes, neurotransmitters involved, and treatment options. Pay close attention to the treatments for these disorders and the neurotransmitters that are moderated by each.
