Introduction
In this section, we examine a few major disorders that impact
individuals. In no way is the list complete. For this class, I have chosen
some such as Schizophrenia and Alzheimer's Disease which are very dehabilitating, plus substance abuse and the affective disorders (including
depression) are very common. This lesson examines these disorders and
provides some overview for their causes, neurotransmitters involved, and
treatment options. Pay close attention to the treatments for these disorders
and the neurotransmitters that are moderated by each.
