Introduction
This chapter provides a comprehensive overview of the
structures and function of the nervous system. As you review the materials
and the chapter, you will note there is a considerable amount of detail you
will need to know. There are no easy ways to do it. The best way is to take
it in sections and work to memorize each section. Make sure you pay
attention to each structure, where it is located, and its function. I also
suggest you read and outline the chapter, then use the CD-ROM to
test yourself. It will take time, but will be worth it when you take the
exam. Again, there are no easy outs. It just takes a lot of work.
After completing this lesson you should understand / be
able to
 | To understand the structure and function of the nervous
system. |
 | To understand the importance of the circulatory system
to the brain. |
 | To understand the planes of orientation. |
 | To understand the function of the 12 cranial nerves and
what each innervates. |
 | To understand the structure and function of the spinal
cord. |
