Lesson 12: Childhood and Adolescent Disorders
Introduction

Childhood and Adolescent DisordersThere a wide variety of disorders associated with childhood and adolescence. While some of these disorders go away with time, others continue on into adulthood and continue to create problems. Finally, some disorders commonly associated with adulthood (e.g., substance abuse/dependence) often begin in adolescence. This chapter reviews these disorders and some treatment options for each.

After completing this lesson you should understand / be able to:

bullet Understand ADHD (potential causes, some symptoms, and treatment options).
bullet Understand issues associated with conduct disorders.
