The last decade has witnessed several efforts to craft collaborative,
consensus driven solutions to local and regional management conflicts.
Whether focused on forest management, water resources, or grazing
issues these efforts are a response to a widespread perception that
our natural resource policymaking processes are becoming increasingly
dysfunctional. This section of the course examines several
collaborative attempts and surveys some recent assessments of the
lessons learned from examples such as the Quincy Library Group and
Applegate Partnership.
