Assistant Professor of Piano, Tenure Track

Tenure-track appointment beginning 2008-2009

Lionel Hampton School of Music

Responsibilities:

• Teach studio piano
• Perform actively in local, regional, and national settings both as soloist and collaborative pianist
• Actively recruit students
• Teach other piano-related courses, to be determined by applicant’s qualifications and the needs of the piano department
• Participate in advising and committee work

Required Qualifications:

• Doctorate in hand, or within one year of completion from the date of appointment
• Record of success as a piano studio teacher at the college level
• Evidence of solo and chamber music performances at a professional level

Desired Qualifications:

• Ability to recruit and retain students
• Ability to interact with private piano teachers and prospective students through such activities as workshops, festivals, master classes and adjudications
• Ability to interact effectively with colleagues
• Ability to enhance the existing curriculum

Appointment:

• Assistant Professor
• Tenure track, nine-month appointment
