We will be watching the 1932 Tod Browning movie Freaks on Tuesday March 1st.  Please take notes during the film because you will write a 2-page (double spaced) response to the film for Study Question #5, due in my box in Morrill 407 on Friday, 3/4, by 5:00 pm, or by email to Stacey at isisjean@aol.com .

Specifically, think about Stacey's lecture on freaks (powerpoint/notes available on the Schedule page) and discuss the question: "Who are the freaks in the film?"  Please pay attention to any dialogue that specifically mentions "monster(s)," "freaks," etc.  There is a script of the film online (www.paradiselost.org/freaks.html) and it may be of use since some parts of the film's sound are fuzzy and incoherent.  You are to quote at least one piece of dialogue from the film in your response with proper explanation. 

Please consider this a mini-essay with a clear introduction and conclusion.
