MP#1 100 Points:    Critical Thinking Application

Definition of a Monster Part 1: Construct a definition of what it means to “be” a monster or “become” monstrous.   Place your discussion in a modern context using current social norms, ethics, and morality. We will work through this assignment together, and the paper must also address those critical theories and approaches discussed in class up to this point. Length: 3 to 5 pp.

 

 

MP#2 50 Points:    Specific Examples, Illustrations, Begin Portfolio
Definition of a Monster Part 2: Revise your definition essay and publish on-line, on your web-portfolio, with specific images to illustrate your main points.  Further guidelines to follow.

MP#3 150 Points    Creative Application of Theories
Monster Myth: 
Create a monster myth of your own.   Through storytelling, craft a fable or legend of a monster either imagined, or drawn from contemporary sources, that is based upon your innermost fears and anxieties and the application of course theories.   As a creative project, you must use both word and image to illustrate your myth.   You may use any medium to create both text and image.   Some examples are, which you are not limited to; prose, poetry, fiction, non-fiction, first, second, or third person, collage, digital manipulation, illustrated by hand, color, black & white, etc.
