Welcome to Media Writing (JAMM 121).

Media Writing builds a foundation of principles and skills needed by professionals writing for the print, broadcast and online media. Through daily practice, students learn expository writing skills tailored to journalistic, public relations and advertising purposes. As students learn to write for the media, they also begin to build a critical understanding of the ethics, law, and best practices employed by media professionals.

Three credits. Two 2-hour lab classes weekly. Attendance is required. Prerequisite: successful completion of English 102 and ability to type. Required course for JAMM majors and minors. A “C” or better is required in this class for students wishing to major or minor in a JAMM area and in order to progress to upper division courses.
