LATIN 369:  Grammar Review

This Latin Lab course is for students who wish to review the hard parts of Wheelock before or while taking an upper division Latin course. To receive one credit you should complete 13 or more of the assignments in the Course Packet. These should be turned in according to the schedule that will be provided.  The course will meet one hour a week.  The course packet is found on the web page http://www.ls.uidaho.edu/luschnig/ under Course Packets and Study Guides.

Always study the material in Wheelock (including the vocabulary) before (NOT as a last resort after) you do the exercises. Always read the directions at the top of each assignment. Words in brackets are not to be translated.

If you cannot think of the Latin equivalent of an English word, try to substitute a synonym (this is a good mental exercise). Try to use words that are familiar to you rather than looking them up in a dictionary.

The exercises on forms are for your review, please do NOT turn them in until the end of the course. You can correct them yourself by comparing them to the paradigms in your book.

The composition exercises should be done on the page with the questions. They are difficult to correct otherwise.

The course will meet once a week to go over the new material and to discuss any common errors. Please correct any errors you may have made as part of the next assignment.

At the end of the first few assignments write down what you feel you learned by doing them.

Tentative schedule, subject to change as questions arise:
