AdClub
Open to all majors, including: advertising, business/marketing, art/design,
public relations, radio-TV-digital media production and journalism.
An accredited club of the American Advertising Federation (AAF). Great
resume builder.
Want real-world exposure to the ad industry? Join the AdClub! UI AdClub
is a student-run club that advertises for local businesses within the
community. The club is an actual advertising agency that works for local
businesses. Members find businesses that lack advertising, and provide
full-service ads (creation, presentation and placement). Money raised from the advertising work goes to the club to support
events for its members, such as visiting advertising agencies in Seattle and
Portland. During these job shadowing trips, students can see how the actual
advertising career works and check out available jobs.
To become a member of the AdClub:
You don't need to be an
advertising major to be in AdClub!. We look for students with experience in
business, public relations, event planning, economics,
management, accounting, graphic design
and creativity.
You'll need to fill out an
application for a position within the club. (The School of JAMM has apps.)
Every member has a position.
One-time dues are required to
join AdClub ($35) within the first four weeks of joining.
80% meeting attendance is
required.
You'll receive a membership card,
membership into the national branch of AdClub and professional
experience to add to your resume.
