is Associate Professor of Costume Design and Technology at the UI.
In addition to courses in costume design and theatrical makeup, she also
teaches advanced costume technology, costume crafts (masks and
millinery) and Asian Theatre History. Ms. Vasek has worked as a
costume crafts person in professional regional theatres throughout the
United States, including The Guthrie Theatre and American Conservatory
Theatre, and was the head Costume Dyer at the Santa Fe Opera from
2003-2005. Ms. Vasek’s recent costume design credits include The
Corps of Discovery
and Pirates
of Penzance
for University of Idaho, Comedy
of Errors
and No
Fish in the House
for IRT, Death
and the Kings’ Horseman
for Washington State University, and the world premiere of An
American Wife for
the Northeast Theatre. Ms. Vasek designed scenery, costumes and
masks for Noh
Telling,
a double bill of traditional Noh and Kyogen plays at Central Washington
University.
She is currently designing costumes for Mary
Rose
for West Virginia University, and A
Midsummer Night’s Dream
for UI.
