The Inland Northwest Philosophy Conference invites you to the campuses of the University of Idaho and Washington State University for its third annual meeting. The topic of the 2000 INPC is Truth and Meaning. The conference will convene at 1:00 pm on Friday, March 24, and sessions will run through early afternoon on Sunday, March 26. Friday and Saturday sessions will be held on the campus of the University of Idaho. On Friday evening, the Public Forum on Truth and Meaning will be held at the Moscow Community Center in downtown Moscow, Idaho. The Keynote Address will be delivered by Stephen Schiffer, Professor of Philosophy at New York University on Saturday evening in the Law School Courtroom on the Campus of the University of Idaho. Sunday sessions will be held in Todd Hall on the campus of Washington State University.
This year, the University of Idaho College of Letters & Science will hold a Learning For Life Colloquium in conjunction with the INPC. In working toward our goal of offering an arena where philosophical interaction can occur on a variety of levels, we are pleased to welcome our alumni and friends of the University of Idaho to the conference. Participants in the Colloquium will have access to the conference sessions, as well as to special sessions on Saturday designed especially for them. Options I & III include lunch and dinner on Saturday and access to meeting rooms for conference sessions, continental breakfasts, and coffee. Option II provides the participant with access to conference sessions, continental breakfasts, and coffee. Dates are postmark deadlines.
Lodging: There are several lodging options. The INPC has reserved rooms as a part of the conference package with the University Inn, Moscow (800-528-1234). Please mention the INPC when making reservations to receive the conference rate. Other local hotels include the Holiday Inn Express Hotel and Suites, Pullman (800-465-4329), Mark IV, Moscow (208-882-7557), and Quality Inn, Pullman (509-332-0500). Other lodging options include: Heritage Inn, Pullman (800-528-1234), Palouse Inn, Moscow (888-882-5511), Ash Street House Bed and Breakfast, Pullman (509-332-3638), Carstens Bed and Breakfast, Pullman (509-332-6162), Paradise Ridge Bed and Breakfast, Moscow (208-882-5292), and Peacock Hill Bed and Breakfast, Moscow (208-882-1423). There will be a shuttle bus service available to pick people up and take them to the conference sessions.
Travel: The nearest airport is the Pullman Airport. If you plan to fly into that airport, please let us know and we will arrange to pick you up. Other airports within a short drive from Moscow and Pullman are the Lewiston (ID) Airport (30 miles south) and the Spokane Airport (90 miles north).
