Freshman/Transfer Honor Tea
The picture below illustrates what a great
event we had this year. As always, we held the Tea in the Faculty Lounge of Brink
Hall, named after Carol Ryrie Brink, a writer of children's books. It's a grand room
with ambience in abundance to match the table, loaded up with exotic scones, stuffed with
nuts and dried fruit, delectable tea sandwiches, and an array of sweets, all to make our
new Freshmen and Transfer students feel welcome!

Lord, thank you for the phrase,
"Mouth-watering..."

Rick Penticoff enjoys the off-the-cuff
philosophical conversation with Stan Rhodes, son of alumnus Donna Rhodes. The
tradition of excellence continues.

Nate Gilbert describes with vigor the
exquisite taste of the scones; chef Jennifer Scott looks on as President Melissa Cowley
bows to his profound knowledge.

Shawn Vidmar relates horror stories of dead
professors haunting Brink Hall

Annie Stewart looks sceptical as Mike
Last tries to convince her that he is the reincarnation of Jack Kerouac.

Ah, the man who started it all, Professor
Walter Hesford, the father of Eta Chi (although when asked recently, he couldn't quite
remember when the baby was born...)

Kevin Hobdey, our ever helpful friend, with
his friend, President Melissa Cowley

Professors Teo Sipahigil and David Barber
wonder if they are ever going to get the strawberry jam off their shirts.

Hey, look at the last picture and this one;
how is it that Kerry O'Steen manages to be in the background with almost the exact same
body position? Strange, notes Kelly Missamore (center): "I'm a Freshman,
but I'm not clueless, because Annie (right) is my mentor. She'll know the answer, if
I can just get her to stop listening to Mike Last, who finally has convinced her that he
is Jack Kerouac."

Vice-President Trish Thomas (left) smiles
the big one after organizing the best Tea yet, and President Cowley agrees.
