You access Banner through the Banner Web Interface, which you access at  www.uidaho.edu/registration.  You log in to Banner using your student ID, your SSN, or your VNumber (any one of these will work).

Be advised that when you are in the Banner Web Interface, all your keystrokes are recorded.  It's possible for some to trace your exact actions in any session you have in Banner, including any attempts you make to log on.  It is unlikely that anyone will be checking up on you this way, but this is a security measure.

Immediately upon logging in, you will see a list of various menus.  The Student Information/ Registration Menu leads you to functions that allow you to register for your own classes.  The Financial Aid Menu gives you information about your own financial aid (if you are a student).  The Employee Menu leads to information concerning your paycheck and your withholding information.  The Personal Information / Address Menu allows you update your personal information (address, phone, email, marital status, name, etc.).  (Click here for instructions in using this menu.)  The Faculty & Advisers Menu leads to the functions you need to perform as composition instructor.  You will not see the Faculty & Advisers Menu if you are new TA or new instructor who has not yet been assigned a section.  When we in the department report to the Registrar that you are the instructor for a particular section (your VNumber needs to be associated with the particular CRN for a course), this menu will appear.  Even when you are no longer teaching for us, this menu continues to appear because you can still have access to the semesters for when you were an instructor.

Here are specific directions for various tasks that you need to do in Banner.
