The University of Idaho offers a BA in English, with an emphasis in creative writing, as well as the Master of Fine Arts.  UI's MFA program is an intense, three-year course of study that focuses on teaching, and learning, the craft of writing.  Students may specialize in poetry, fiction, or nonfiction, but we actively encourage students to cross-pollinate, to work and study outside their usual area of emphasis.  Our teachers are themselves practicing, publishing writers.  Teaching assistantships, as well as fellowships, are available to the most qualified applicants.
