12: CODA
|
|
Overview
This officially ends our course. But I hope you will keep the conversation going!
The Blackboard site will stay open for at least two weeks after
class ends. Use each other as
a resource.
1. Discussion: Now
that you’ve worked through all the lessons you have one final
assignment. Go back to your
home page and revisit your metaphor.
Knowing what you know now, what metaphor would you use to describe
your ideal teacher of writing? If
the metaphor is the same, explain how it fits now, with additional
information. If it has
changed, explain how the new metaphor fits and why you changed it.
This constitutes your final discussion, so be sure to elaborate.
You might refer to insights you gained in the readings or in the
field from your observations and interviews.
Make your final posts by mid week under the
"Lesson 12" discussion in
Blackboard.
I encourage you to check out everyone’s
postings.

2.
Reflection paper: Looking back over all
you've learned, how do you see yourself as a teacher of writing?
What would you like your own writing program to include once you have a
full time teaching position? What will be some key elements?
Think of this final reflection as a statement of your approach, philosophy
of teaching writing, in preparation for job interviews. Turn in your one-page
reflection
paper in
Blackboard under the "Lesson 12
Reflection" assignment by the end of the week.
Again, this officially ends our course, but I hope you will keep the conversation going!
The listserv and sites will stay open for at least two weeks after
class ends. Use each other as
a resource. |
