PROSPECTUS

Desire, greed, revenge, love, sacrifice, romance, loyalty, faith, war, passion--we'll explore them all in this sampling of Western thought, history, culture, and imagination from the Bible to Shakespeare. Discussion, lectures, quizzes,  opportunities for student presentations, required attendance (yes, REQUIRED), three exams, and several short writing assignments will propel us toward cultural literacy. As Hamlet says, "words, words, words"!
