Wiki assignment:

For this assignment, write a brief Wiki for the Section of the Final Report Assignment (this should be Objective 1 of the final report) .

Assignment goals:
  - to help you get started with the section of the final report assignment
  - to give you an idea about how to write a Wiki
(This is worth 4 points)

As you write this, remember the key elements of Definition: function and form.

Definition is a key element of technical writing. Wikis are a definition.
 

 The Wikipedia organization works like this:

A: Title/Key term

B: The main point: Definition of the MAIN KEY TERM (usually a sentence or two)

C: Outline for the rest of the article:

1.      Key term 1

a.       Sub-key term

b.      Sub-key term

2.      Key term 2

3.      Key term 3

D: Sections defining each Key Term

E: See also
            -- Links to related articles

F: References

G: Further Reading

For this assignment:

For this assignment, write a Wiki for your section of the final report assignment by writing Parts A, B, and C above.  You don't need to do parts D, E, F, G (that's the whole section of the final report assignment).

1.      Title/Key term
2.      Brief introduction: 

a.       Topic of your final report project (one sentence)

b.      Topic of your Section of the Final Report (one sentence)

3.      Outline/list the main topics/key terms you plan to cover in the Section of the Final Report

EXAMPLE 1:

Fox Habitat
The report will compare fox habitat needs to coyote habitat needs.  The section of the final report (Objective 1)  will cover fox habitat and will have these two main parts:

Nesting needs
      Need 1,2,3,4,5..
  Feeding needs
      Need 1 (range size)
       Need 2, 3, 4….

b.      EXAMPLE: 

Flame Measuring Apparatus
The final report will cover the results of our test of a flame measuring apparatus.  The section of the final report describes the measuring apparatus (Objective 1).

Main components: stand, device holder, release mechanism
Stand:
  Part 1— Name, purpose, how it works
  Part 2—
  Part 3 ....
Device holder:
  Part 1(name, purpose, how it works...) 
  Part 2 …
Release mechanism
  Part 1
  Part 2….

Note:
1. Keep this short. Mainly I'm looking for a detailed list of what you plan to cover in the section of the final report assignment. I want to know what you plan to write for the section of the final report (Objective 1 of the final report)
