How to Give Oral Reports

II. How to prepare oral reports
bullet Assess your audience. Consider:
     level of technical expertise, interests, needs,
        attitudes, size of group
bullet Limit the length of your report.
                      Time == 6 minutes
                        Scope, level of specificity 
                        Focus on the main point and 2 or 3 supporting points
            A. Introduce.
            B. Present results, main finding, main ideas.
            C. Present conclusions, recommendations.
bullet Prepare notes:  know what you want to say.
        At least provide an outline of your oral report
                 we  (and you) can follow.
bullet Practice and rehearse  (consider time).

bullet Control your voice.
bullet Control your movements.
