Objectives Sample 1:

Objectives:

I propose to write a report that will summarize current incineration technology for medical wastes. The report will contain four sections:

1.      Types of incinerators

a.       Starved air modular systems,

b.      Excess air modular systems,

c.       Rotary kilns,

d.      Fluidized bed combustors.

I will provide information about these incinerators’ efficiencies and the advantages and disadvantages of each type.

2.      Air pollution caused by incineration

This section will describe the types of pollutants produced when medical wastes, mostly plastics, are incinerated.

3.      Air pollution controls.

Here I will cover the different types of stack scrubbers, their efficiencies, and the costs to retro-fit existing incinerators with pollution control equipment.

4.      Cogeneration facilities.

In this section, I will discuss how centralized medical waste incinerators can work as cogeneration facilities.

Scope:

This project report will be limited to a literature research and no specific design work will be included.

Note:  this looks good but is it feasible for a 10-week project??  O1 and O2 work as a feasible report.  O3 could be a separate report.  O4 could also be a separate report.

Objectives Sample 2:

Objectives Rough Draft

The goal of this project is to create a preliminary design plan for the construction of a water treatment facility on Paradise Creek near Moscow, Idaho.  The facility would treat two harmful contaminants <Be specific--which two?] in the water.  The report will show current levels of contamination and will determine the best treatment options for these contaminants. <This sentences repeat what the author states in the list below, so it's not necessary.]

 Report Objectives:

1.      Evaluate the current Paradise Creek conditions regarding two contaminants.

2.      Evaluate the problems associated with the current conditions due to those contaminants.

3.      Determine the best treatment options by comparing alternative treatment methods.

4.      Determine the best design for a treatment facility based on the chosen treatment method.

Revised:

The goal of this project is to create a preliminary design plan for the construction of a water treatment facility on Paradise Creek near Moscow, Idaho.  The facility would treat two harmful water contaminants:  X  and Y.  The report will cover:

1.      The current Paradise Creek conditions regarding X and Y.

2.      The best treatment options by comparing alternative treatment methods.

3.      The best design for a treatment facility based on the chosen treatment method.
