Introductory Memo:  Section of the final report

 Phil Druker, Department of English

Before you turn in the final draft of the section of the final report assignment, you need to write a memo to me introducing the section so I know how do read the draft you submit.

bullet

Use this memo to remind me about

1.      what your project deals with,

2.      what kind of information will appear before this section, and

how this section relates to your proposed objectives.

bullet

Use correct memo format.

bullet

Answer these questions:

1.      What is this section about?  What objective(s) from your proposal do you cover?

2.      Where will this fit in the final report?

§         What comes before it?

§         What comes after it?

3.      Who is your audience for the section?

4.      What kinds of terms do you expect your reader to know?  Were they defined in the background section of your proposal?

5.      What percentage of the final report does this represent?
