This Environmental Writing- English 316 - course is for you...
bulletif you want to write about environmental topics
bulletif you have personal experience with an environmental issue or
bulletif you have worked or played in the outdoors
bulletif you're a junior or a senior
bulletif you are passionate or know a lot about an environmental issue

In the course, you will spend the semester researching and writing a magazine article--the course project--on a topic you choose.

You'll learn how to write using creative nonfiction.  You'll also learn how to write a proposal and other types of documents.

 

If you don't care about environmental issues or if you don't want to spend the semester learning and writing about an environmental issue, do not take this course.

 

++ Depending on your major, you can fulfill your department's requirement for English 317, technical writing. This course meets the Core Communications requirement.

 ++ The course text is an pamphlet developed by the instructor  and is available at the U I bookstore.
