Transit Station/Stop Design

Transit riders need some place to wait. Attractive public open spaces and pedestrian-friendly plazas convenient to transit stops will help attract and keep  transit users.(Transit Villages, pg.92-93).

Stations should be visible and convenient, that means they have to occur frequently along transit lines. If they are not people will just drive their cars.  They need to be aesthetically pleasing along with having the ability to provide shelter from the elements.

Destinations-The destinations of light rail lines must include important and popular destinations to ensure sufficient use.
