| This area's main focus is the telescope located in the middle. The general location of this "room" is as far away from the city lights as it could be. There is a ADA ramp that spirals up to the telescope, thus placing the telescope on a pedestal and giving the viewer an advantage. There are benches all around the site for those who might be waiting their turn at star gazing. The curved retaining walls hold back the earth, making this area slightly depressed, thus giving the sense of arrival and departure. The larger trees are strategically placed so they block out exterior light but do not block the sky. |
