WOMEN’S STUDIES
Women's Studies connects different kinds of knowledge and insights
across many subjects. The minor offers an interdisciplinary program that
uses gender to examine such cultural variables as class, ethnicity,
nationality, sexual identity, and age. The courses encourage students to
develop critical thinking skills that will empower them as active
learners and that will lead them to a better understanding of
differences in the society that surrounds them. Fields such as
gerontology, mass communication, recreation, criminology, economics,
health services, social work, law, psychology, and education are
increasingly offering special career opportunities to students with a
background in Women's Studies.
