The Department of Foreign Languages and Literatures offers several study abroad programs.

ISEP, International Student Exchange Program
offers opportunities for students to study for a semester or year at 100 institutions in 40 countries. Students with sophomore, junior, senior, or graduate status, a 2.75 or better GPA, and two years of college-level language study (if applicable) are eligible to apply. Courses taken through ISEP are considered transfer credit and graded on a pass/fail basis.

USAC, University Studies Abroad Consortium

offers opportunities for students to study for a semester or a year in Spain, France, Italy, Chile, Germany, and Australia. Students do not need any previous language study to participate in the program. Students with sophomore, junior, senior, or graduate status and a 2.5 or better GPA are eligible to apply. Courses taken through USAC are considered resident credit and receive letter grades.

PUCE, Pontifica Universidad Catlólica del Ecuador
designed for Spanish and Latin American Studies majors, is a year-long program. Students with junior, senior, or graduate status, a 2.5 or better GPA, and two years of college-level Spanish are eligible to apply. Courses taken at this institution are considered resident credit and are graded on a pass/fail basis.

Foreign Language Business Exchange Programs

cooperate with leading business schools in France, Germany, and Spain. These semester- and year-long programs are designed for foreign language and business majors and can be designed to conclude with a summer internship experience with a European business firm. Students with junior, senior, or graduate status, a 2.5 or better GPA, a strong language background (two or more years of university-level study), and some previous business courses are eligible to apply.

Courses taken through these programs are considered transfer credits and are graded on a Pass/Fail basis.
