CROSS-GENERATIONAL WORKPLACE WORKSHOP

This workshop will focus on outlook, work ethic, and preferred leadership style of the four generations in the workplace today and how to bridge the generational gaps.  It will emphasize the characteristics and potential conflicts between generation “Y” and the “boomers.”   Through overview, discussion, and experiential activities, participants will reflect on their own cohort and themselves and learn to understand generational differences in ways that facilitate the mediation of conflict and cultivate workplace civility.

Location: The workshop will meet in JEB 328 on each of the meeting dates.

Requirements: Students are expected to attend all workshop meetings in full and to complete all the readings in the course packet.  Following the workshop, students will complete a synthesis essay of 2-4 pages (single-spaced) to be turned in to Debbie Storrs (Phinney 115) by November 3, 2003.  Essay details will be assigned in the workshop.
