DESCRIPTION:

Conflict is often viewed as an iceberg, with easily seen conflict content (issues) above the surface and more difficult to resolve emotions (interests) hidden below the surface.  When corporate diversity is added to the iceberg, conflict dynamics can overwhelm and sink a corporation.  The workshop will prepare both current and future employees and management to work effectively with diversity and conflict as it manifests in the corporate world.  Lecture, interactive activities, and role-play will help workshop participants experience constructive conflict resolution techniques.

The workshop will count for upper division sociology credit and for the workshop requirements for the Certificate in Diversity and Stratification.

REQUIREMENTS:

Full attendance is required and other requirements will be discussed during the workshop.

Any questions about this workshop should be addressed to John Mihelich (jmihelic@uidaho.edu).
