Report Basic Structure

Most reports follow this basic structure:

Introduce This happens on the report level, the section level, and the paragraph level.
Give Data
Analyze

 In technical writing, this I (introduce), D (give the date), A (analyze) pattern is powerful and important.  Try to make it work for you.

Remember, your job in writing is to analyze and explain.  Do not expect your reader to see what you see in your data and to make the connections you make.

Do not merely dump data.  Instead, present the data and analyze it so your readers understand what you understand.
