Overview of the Proposal
Project |
Here’s what is going to happen over the
next five weeks. This proposal assignment
has many layers, so check this overview carefully. If you have questions,
please ask!
NOTE: You will write the proposal in increments: one section at a time by
submitting rough drafts of each proposal section.
- You will read material about the proposal in
general.
- You will read about each section of the proposal.
- You will submit a rough draft of each section of the
proposal.
- During week 7 you will complete a progress report in
which you summarize secondary (library) research that you complete so you
can write the background section of the proposal.
- During week 9, you will submit a final draft of your
proposal.
Week 5 (this week)
- Read the Proposal Introduction material and take the
quiz on the proposal Introduction material (Task 1). Be sure to
read the Request For Proposals (RFP)—the proposal assignment.
- Take the quiz.
- Start writing your proposal by writing the
Objectives Section rough draft (Task 2).
Week 6
1. Read the material about the Problem and Methods
sections, and write your proposal’s Problem Section rough draft and
Methods section rough draft (Task 1).
2. Read the material on the proposal’s Background
section (Task 2).
3. Read the Progress Report Assignment (Task 3)
and start compiling research to write the background section rough draft
of the proposal.Week 7
1. Complete the summary exercise (Task 1).
This will ensure you know how to summarize a document.
2. Submit the progress report (Task 2). This
will help you prepare to write the background section of the proposal.
3. Re-read the information about the background section
(Task 3).Week 8
1. Read the material about the Background Section and
submit a rough draft of that section (Task 1).
2. Read the material about the other sections of the
proposal and submit the rough drafts of those other sections (Task 2).
Week 9
Submit the final draft of the proposal.
