Week 3 - Feb. 8 Kevin 1   Read: “Under the Influence,” “The Ashes of August” (both online); Jeff Jones’s “Children of Cain,” (I’ll email this one to you);”Coyotes” (in The Boys of My Youth)

Feb. 15 HOLIDAY – NO CLASS but Write, write, write!

Week 4 - Feb. 22  Scottie1/Kristin1   Read: “Cousins” and “The Fourth State of Matter” (both in The Boys of My Youth); “And We Shall Be Changed” (online)

Week 5 - Mar. 1  Justin1/Erik1   Read “Reading Abraham,” “Going to Fort Peck” (online)

Week 6 - Mar. 8  Kelly1/Karyn1  Read ”Annabel Before the War” (on webpage) (Rose/Michal pass out.)

Mar. 15 – SPRING BREAK – NO CLASS

Week 7  -  Mar.22    Rose1/Michal1 Discuss The Boys of My Youth (those essays we haven’t discussed already) and the beginning of Pagan Time. (Bella/Jolie pass out.)

Week 8 - Mar. 29   No class. Work outside of class on research for Essay Number 2 and read Pagan Time.

Week 9 - Apr. 5   Bella1/Gail2  Discuss Pagan Time

Week 14 - May 10 Finals Week. Final (shorter) essay due. Keep this date open: we may need this class time for catch-up.

Revisions will be due 2 weeks after essays are workshopped. (Michal, Bella, and Jolie—the final folks to workshop their essays—may hand in their revisions the final day of finals week.) The final, shorter essay will not be workshopped or revised. I will give that assignment before spring break so that you may get started on it.
